Georgia provides a variety of landscapes – and one of the most beautiful options is the North Georgia mountains. Jessica and Peter were such a fun couple to work with and I’m so excited to share their day. Their wedding was set at a family-owned vineyard in Georgia and it had so many many fun, personal touches. Crane Creek Vineyards is an extra special place as it’s been in the family for 30 years, and Jessica and Peter both work there today. The backdrop to their day was absolutely gorgeous, from the vines and lake to the mountainous views. The day was joyous and cheerful, silly, which was a true reflection of them as a couple. Their wedding day truly fit with their eclectic and colorful vineyard wedding vibe.
Jessica and Peter first met in high school, and then went to the same college. They both have a background in theatre as you might be able to tell from some of the photos. Together, they are both winemakers which made having their wedding at Crane Creek Vineyards a perfect match. Jessica and Peter share a love for playing video games and DND, but still love being outdoors and camping together. When asked a few words to describe themselves as a couple, they said silly, nerdy, and spontaneous.
Their attire was all about fun personal style. Jessica looked magical in a BHLDN beaded dress with a colorful floral crown and red shoes. And Peter was quite dapper in his green suit by Oliver Wix, colorful socks, and a patterned tie. A pleasant surprise of the day was having many of their friends join them in getting ready. Even though they didn’t plan on having a wedding party, their getting ready entourage grew on the day of and made the pre-wedding vibe fun and memorable.
One of their favorite moments of the day? The first look!
Jessica and Peter shared:
“Our first look was an incredibly cathartic moment that we will both remember forever. After continued postponements, disappointments, and shifting of wedding plans due to COVID, at that moment it finally started to feel real that we were actually having a wedding. Neither of us had seen each other’s outfits either, so it was also a great surprise for us both.”
When the ceremony started, more fun began! You really started to see the colorful and eclectic theme come to life, starting with their wedding aisle. The chalk aisle was hand-colored by the couple’s family and friends! Then the flower dude made a dramatic appearance, leading the way for the bride and her father.
I personally loved all the colorful details that the couple had throughout the day. They brought so much vibrancy to the wedding, that felt both eclectic and elegant. In their attire (who else is in love with that green suit?!), their reception decor, their flowers and their personalities! Everything had a purpose or personal touch, which made the wedding celebration so special and really fitting for them.
When asked to share advice for couples planning their own wedding, Jessica and Peter shared:
“Go with your gut. Do the nerdy or off-beat thing that you want to do, and don’t worry about how other’s might perceive it. You only have one wedding (hopefully) so do what makes you happy. Have a solid plan, make lists, get organized, hire help to get your organized, and then on the day of…let everything go and just be in the moment. It goes by quickly. Soak it all in.”
