From our first call, Torey and David knew they wanted to take their engagement photos in Downtown Atlanta. The couple set up their home in the city after relocating from DC together. Torey had grown up in a Philadelphia suburb and always loved visiting the city and admiring the architecture and history that it held. It made perfect sense that the city skyline and historic buildings would be the backdrop for their downtown Atlanta engagement photos.
How they met: Torey and David met in DC during their first year of college. They were good friends for a few years before officially starting to date. They both love going to concerts and spending time with their 2-year-old pup, Daisy.
We started off at the Capitol building which was a very cool experience to have all to ourselves. The architecture and beautiful marble stairway made an incredible backdrop for portraits.
We headed to the Fairlie District next. The old copper arch on Fairlie Street paired perfectly with Torey’s green dress. Taking in the architecture of all the downtown Atlanta buildings was so fun for us all.
After a quick outfit change, we headed toward Centennial Park area to stop and take in some of the downtown Atlanta views. And of course the ferris wheel always makes for a fun backdrop. Our last stop was Park Bar to get a cold beer after walking through the city. But first, we made sure to stop by City Park Studios for some fun photos at the graffiti wall.
The couple describes themselves: Silly, caring, partners, nerdy, curious, quirky, talkative, dedicated.
It was a gorgeous winter day and Torey and David had so much fun exploring together. Their downtown Atlanta engagement session was the perfect prelude to their upcoming Downtown wedding this fall.
