Cool breezes, changing leaves and the feeling of autumn in the air. Fall was the perfect time for engagement photos at Red Top Mountain State Park in Acworth, GA. I first met Hannah & Patrick through Zoom for a virtual consultation during the early days of the pandemic, and was excited they chose me to photograph their wedding journey. After months of connecting digitally, it was great meeting them in person during their engagement session. It felt we almost had the park to ourselves!
We started the session at one of the woodsy trails that had the most gorgeous sunlight hitting the trees. We did a bit of walking through the park, and a little dancing.
At the end of those trails, we came upon one side of the lake that had a beautiful clearing. The backdrop almost had an Ombre effect. From gold to green to blue, the way the sun hit the trees and water was beautiful. After grabbing some photos at the lake, we headed back to the car for an outfit change.
My favorite part of the session had to be these light wispy plants. There was a small section right next to the main building that had these the airy, textured plants. I quickly became obsessed. I stopped to throw Patrick & Hannah in the middle for some fun, quick photos before switching their look.
We switched gears and headed the other direction toward the cabin. In our walk, we found more trails, and at this point, we seriously had the park to ourselves. This couple totally nailed the comfy and cute fall look.
We rounded out the session at a different part of the lake. Walking on a floating dock is one thing, but walking on a floating dock with your camera gear and pregnant is another! This couple was all-in when I mentioned walking to the edge of the dock for some romantic lakeside evening photos. It was a perfect way to end the session (plus the bonus dancing and piggy-back photos on our way back to the car).
Congratulations to you both on your engagement. I can’t wait to capture your big day in 2021!
