Andrea and Ben met like many couples, in the digital dating space. Their love for the outdoors, Atlanta United soccer, and visiting breweries took them through numerous first dates together. Hosting an Atlanta brewery wedding was the perfect fit.
This couple loved grabbing a good beer at the many breweries in town during the days of their wedding planning. Sharing a beer was a compromise for both of them to get to work on planning the wedding. After realizing they did not want to go the traditional route, they decided to plan the day to reflect them as a couple and their favorite things. Cue Halfway Crooks Brewery! This spot in Summerhill Atlanta was one of their very first dates and was right there in their neighborhood. Plus a bonus is that Ben loves their selection of European-style brews.
Andrea and Ben’s favorite moment of the day: The First Look!
We held their first look just outside the venue, with the modern and eclectic Summerhill Atlanta as their backdrop. Ben’s reaction was so sweet – he was so excited to see Andrea, and when he turned around, he couldn’t contain his smiles.
The incredible wall murals in this area of Atlanta made the perfect backdrop for some amazing portraits. They gave a very artsy and playful mood to their wedding day.
In true 2021 fashion, this couple chose to host a micro wedding. They had a small group to celebrate in-person at the brewery, and a large turnout on Zoom to watch all of the fun, including Ben’s family in Germany. This made for an intimate and safe live event, but without excluding those who were at a distance to be able to celebrate and cheer the couple on.
The couple’s dog Scarlett has been a big part of their lives from the beginning of their relationship. She made her modeling appearance during their engagement session, and also played a role on wedding day too! She stayed by their side the entire day, including the ceremony.
The couple described the feeling of the day:
“The perfect day! It was so special to have our friends and family there to celebrate, either in
person or via zoom. We had a lot of help in planning our wedding, and so many people offering to
help us. It was great to see how it all came together.”
The couple says a surprise from the day was how beautiful the cake was which was made by one of their friends. It looked so elegant and classic, while also tasting so good!
A fun detail from the groom: his fancy party shoes! In the summer, Ben was a groomsman in a friend’s wedding overseas where they sported these light-up sneakers. We were excited when he busted them out for the dance floor at his own wedding!
When asked what advice they had for other couples planning a wedding:
“Use your network to connect with family, friends, acquaintances who may be able to help you
with things on the big day. Also, think outside the box for venues.”
