Brooke and Adam met while both were working in New Jersey. Adam is originally from Georgia and when work lead him back home, Brooke decided to join him. They now live in Marietta with their 2 cats, and both love the outdoors, camping, and boating. So it made perfect sense to do a lifestyle engagement shoot at Lake Lanier with a lakeside and camping theme. We all took in the fresh air and nature surrounding us and captured some amazing portraits for this Lake Lanier engagement.
Lakeside Engagement Session
Lake Lanier is the largest lake in Georgia with nearly 700 miles of shore. The area had woodsy trees, cool weather, and beautiful sunsets. Perfect for camp themed engagement photos! Brooke and Adam set up their campsite and we were ready to set sail out on the lake.
The water was calm and perfect for a trip out on their boat – which by the way, was a super cute retro speed boat that I immediately became obsessed with. These two got cozy on the water and when we made it back to land, kicked things off with sack race with their sleeping bags!
The sun started to set and the day winded down with a fireside game of Uno. The backdrop of the sun setting on Lake Lanier was a gorgeous and perfect end to the day. You can’t lie – that golden flare is gorgeous. We took the boat ride back to the deck… and as our time came to a close, the couple bravely jumped off the dock into the water for one final engagement photo! Yes, it was VERY cold.
