It was the perfect spring day to head into the hills and take in all the nature for this Red Top Mountain Engagement. The park is named for its rich red mining soil color. It was once an important mining area in the state. We walked (and sometimes danced) through the trees and took in the fresh air on the lake for this fun spring mountain engagement session for Lucie and Lucas.
Lucie and Lucas met in college at a UGA football game. With their fun and quirky personalities, it was no surprise to find out their first official date was going roller skating together. After 7 years of dating the couple got engaged under the UGA arches, a special place for them. Lucas was trying his best to play it cool while a friend casually asked Lucie to meet up. Fun story: Lucie accidentally was facing Lucas when he was pulling out the ring. Engagements don’t always go perfectly as planned, but they always make for a great story.
The couple both love being in nature and going on walks together. Red Top Mountain was the perfect setting to capture these two in their natural environment. We also brought along some favorite books as both of them love to read and even have the same taste in books! The day was full of walking along the nature paths, big smiles, and lots of laughter.
After a quick outfit change, we set off to the water and took in all the beautiful light. There was a soft breeze in the air and the light that afternoon was perfect for capturing these two along the lake.
Congrats to Lucie and Lucas! I am so excited for their upcoming wedding in 2023!
