Virtual Wedding Ceremony // Elsie + Bree

2020 started off with a bang, but quickly turned upside down. As the world rolled into shutdowns, businesses were temporarily closing or limiting their services and schools were moved to online. And for weddings, it meant rethinking your plans. Everyone was facing challenges, all in different ways. For this small business owning Atlanta couple, they decided to turn their wedding weekend into a virtual ceremony celebration so friends and family could still be present for a memorable day.

Leveraging the Facebook live platform, only a handful of immediate family members were present, helping pull together the details, along with the couple and myself – all of us practicing social distancing the entire time. One thing I loved about this wedding though was how it showed that love can shine through, no matter what challenge you may be facing.

I could not get over how beautiful that lace Reformation dress was. It was a beautiful creamy ivory color, and paired with a bridal bouquet, perfect for the start of spring.

The ceremony was in the backyard pool area, with a stunning blue and green backdrop. Plus some divine weather. The moment we hit “go live” on the phone, hearts and thumbs-ups starting flooding the chat. The couple found more than 700 streamed their wedding! They exchanged personal vows – including a song written and performed by the groom himself – which brought tears to all of our eyes. And of course their precious pup Mops. He roamed around giving us some cute photo bomb moments, as well as partaking in the vow song.

The couple closed the ceremony with a virtual toast to all their viewers. They thanked everyone for attending and being apart of their day, even if it was afar.

This stylish couple channeled their inner Vogue during their portrait session – and even broke out a couple of yoga poses too. (props to Elsie for that standing one legged pigeon pose in heels and a dress!) I am so thankful to capture such a unique and memorable day for this couple. Congratulations to you two and here’s to many happy years! #loveinthetimeofcoronavirus
